The King George V Band of Mqabba performed for its second time overseas during an international band festival known as 'La Festa del Socio'. This festival was held in the town of Cave in Rome in July 2007. Participation in this festival materialized as part of an exchange between the Society of St Mary of Mqabba and the Associazione Musicale Bandistica Citta' di Cave of Rome.
The first performance of the King George V Band of Mqabba overseas took place in July 1996 in Ascoli Piceno, Italy following a twinning with the Corpo Bandistico di Santa Vittoria. The Society was then awarded with the 'Golden Stars of Town-Twinning' by the European Union.
